Bailee and Emilee Confirmed

The Great Amen

The priest says or sings this prayer alone (or with other priest concelebrants) because it forms an integral part of the Eucharistic Prayer, which has always been reserved exclusively to the priest.

The people give their assent to the priest’s words through their saying or singing the Amen, often called the great Amen as being the most important of the Mass. This Amen is seen as the definitive conclusion to the Eucharistic Prayer and its doxology (a prayer of praise) symbolized by the fact that the priest does not lower the chalice and paten until the people conclude the Amen.

Pray the Mass like never before
( this is kind of a sidebar to the Confirmation mass yesterday )
Fr. Mike explains the Mass like I have never heard before
So I am including this video. It is so profound

I wonder sometimes why the GREAT AMEN isn't always sung during the Holy Mass
It is the most important Amen of the mass
( that's why I videotaped it )

When the priest prays the Doxology and we respond with our AMEN  ( thank you choir ) it makes me dizzy almost that God our Father chose us to participate In Jesus' Mission of the salvation of the world. I am going to listen to it again. He said during every mass we give Glory to God and save sinners
